Name: Rosemount 5900C Radar level meter
Description

Rosemount 5900C Radar Level Gauge

Covering your basic needs in Tank Gauging

What if you could get cost-efficient and reliable level data in your tank farm operations?

Rosemount 5900C measures equally well on all storage tank types and products ranging from liquefied gas, light products, to heavy fuel oil and bitumen. Its ± 3 mm accuracy makes it suitable where medium accuracy is preferred and highest SIL safety rating is not a priority.

5900C can be used together with average temperature measurement devices. Tank data is transmitted to the control room and displayed on a host computer or the TankMaster inventory software package.

Achieve cost savings, a quick installation, and get access to all data with the wireless option. A wired system can be used in parallel with a wireless connection to provide redundancy.

The gauge is bus powered for convenient and safe 2-wire installation.

Features & Benefits:

  • Suitable for various tank types and products
  • Available with different antenna options: parabolic, cone, still-pipe array, LPG/LNG
  • Non-contacting, making the gauges virtually unaffected by process conditions
  • Wireless version available for cost-efficient installation, to utilize more data and get redundant communication possibilities
  • SIL 2 certified by Exida according to IEC 61508-2 and 61508-3
  • No moving parts, means little or no maintenance
  • Installation is normally made with the tank in operation (except for pressurized tanks)

Antennas:

All antennas are of drip-off type in accordance with API (Ch. 3.1 B, Ed 1). Rosemount 5900C with a parabolic antenna:

  • First choice for installation on tanks with fixed roofs
  • Antenna design gives extreme tolerance against sticky and heavily condensing products, such as bitumen/asphalt

Rosemount 5900C with a still-pipe array antenna:

  • Typical applications are crude oil tanks with floating roofs and gasoline/product tanks with or without inner floating roofs
  • Tolerant to rust and product deposits inside the pipe
  • Supplied in fixed and hinged hatch versions, both suitable for installation on 5-, 6-, 8-, 10- and 12-in. pipes. The hinged hatch version enables full pipe size product sampling or verification hand-dips

Rosemount 5900C with a cone antenna:

  • For fixed roof tanks, 4-, 6-, or 8-in. nozzles
  • Cone extensions for long nozzles (4- and 6-in. antennas)

Rosemount 5900C with an LPG/LNG antenna:

  • For level measurements on pressurized or cryogenic liquefied gas
  • A fire-proof ball valve to isolate the process makes service easy
  • A pressure sensor enables volume correction due to vapor for best measurement performance
  • Measurement verification with the tank in service: a verification pin mounted in a still-pipe hole and a deflection plate with a verification ring at the lower pipe end, provide reference echos at fixed and well-known distances
